While I think it is creative and funny to have such a commercial the insinuations do not represent the facts. While the commercial does not out right make the claims, it insinuates that the present Bush Administration is responsible for:US military being deployed in Iraq and extended tours: this is true since Congress surrendered their Constitutional authority to Bush and he ordered the invasion and occupation of Iraq. The economic collapse including home foreclosures, rising medical costs, sky rocketing oil prices, and the stock market crash: the blame for this lies with Federal Reserve System and an unsound currency that is backed by nothing. These policies have been continually supported by both Republican and Democrats alike.Hurricanes and other natural disasters: this insinuation is ridiculous since no one but God controls the weather. Then there is in insinuation that Obama represents “real change” that can fix all those problems. Lets examine this insinuation: Is Obama going to completely end what he even called an illegal occupation of Iraq? No, he is going to keep the 14 permanent military bases in Iraq and largest embassy in the world in Bagdad. He is going to keep troops occupying the country while shifting most of them to Afghanistan to escalate that war and nation build the country and prop up their government. McCain and Obama both have an interventionist foreign policy that ignores the advice of the founders of America. They only argue about which countries to invade and occupy and nation build, not ask the primary question about whether the Constitution gives them such authority. On the economic front Obama and McCain only argue about whether to have a 36% income tax or a 39% income tax and on which group of Americans. What about abolishing the IRS, the income tax, and the Federal Reserve? What about returning to sound money that is backed by gold or silver or some hard asset like that to keep the government from destroying our dollar’s value. Obama and McCain both voted for the $700 billion bailout and both support the government takeover of American financial institutions. Guess what, that’s not free market capitalism, that’s called socialism. And obviously it doesn’t matter who the President is, only God can control hurricanes and other natural disasters. Most of the vague feel good content of Obama’s speeches does not represent anything the Constitution has given the President authority to do or even any branch of the federal government authority to do. For someone who has a degree in Constitutional Law he sure does not respect the Constitution at all. These kinds of videos are good comedy but very deceptive and dishonest representations of the facts about the candidates policies.
